Welcome to the Complete History of Goblins.

My name is Patrick. I am a historian with an interest in the mystical. The following book outlines the role of goblins in history, from The First Incursion to the present, and offers insight into the lives of Goblins today.

To my credentials on the subject: I studied and earned a Ph.D. at the most esteemed of Divinity Schools, and then turned my attention from the divine studies to that of the mystical and now consider myself something of an expert in the history of mysticism with a focus on the impact and recent history of the Incursions. It is with this background that I offer this study.

That said, I wish to speak directly to you the reader for a moment and warn you: The Complete Study of Goblins I have offered here demonstrates little of the markers of typical historical research. There are few dates and a very limited batch of primary sources. Most of the images are an artist’s rendering so that, as is often the case with historical books, you would not get bored. And while I bear witness to my own experiences, the historical events and their significance is a matter of much debate. In some schools of thought, these mystical histories are to be ignored as fanciful stories.

Should you wish to proceed, I welcome you, fellow historian, to:

Goblins weres here.
This can not be the truths

Dr. Patrick A. Sutherland

The study of goblins began sometime in the last century with the event known as the incursion. The exact details of why the goblins arrived in our world are a matter of much scholarly debate. What we do know is: that the first portal was located in Toronto, Canada, and was used, quite unceremoniously, by goblins that flooded into our world. To the question of why? There are three theories.

Goblins sought a means of escaping their reputation as strictly evil beings. Much like humans, goblins came in all forms of morality, but had developed a reputation for evil due to some historical alliance pertaining to “The Vile One.”

The Morality Theory:

The second theory argues that a few goblins sought out our world directly in the pursuit of some magical treasure.

The Greed Theory:

While these first two theories have merit, they do not account for a Goblin’s nature as goblins rarely seek the truly wonderful and often find wonder in the most mundane. And so I adhere to the third theory:

I believes this makes us goblins looks stoopid. We found you. Yous stoopid.

During the Great Goblin War, a skirmish of goblins fell, both down a cliff and subsequently through the portal.

The Goblin War Theory:

You may settle on the matter of Goblin origins by way of your own study. Regardless of how Goblins made it to our world (by chance or design), once they were here the world was forever changed.
